Committed to Communication Excellence
At Ingersoll Place, we recognize the importance of communication in the success of every relationship. It serves as the bedrock for welcoming new residents and their loved ones into our community and helping them feel like part of the family. It’s built into the orientation and training of new staff and in honoring the history and mission of our century-old organization.
Family Involvement Welcomed and Valued
We understand how difficult it can be for adult children who’ve been actively involved in their parents’ care and know everything about their needs to step aside and let others take on the caregiving role. It’s why we maintain open-door access to the leadership team, managers and supervisors and encourage families to reach out at any time for any reason. We want family members to know their input is valued and questions and concerns will be addressed promptly. Yes, their roles will change but the involvement and presence of families remains integral to the health and wellbeing of our residents and our organization. As many family members have learned over the years, without the stress and worries of being caregivers, they are better able to relax and enjoy quality time with their parents.
Clear, Consistent, Timely Information
Prior to each new admission, Claire Oliver, Director of Marketing and Sales, communicates directly with the resident’s designated family member. She sets the stage for what to expect during the admission process and after the resident moves in. To ensure the lines of communication are open, Claire provides names and contact information of Leadership team members and key Resident Care staff and advises family members to expect emails with informational updates, generally once or twice a month. Like everything we do at Ingersoll Place, we set the bar high when it comes to keeping residents, families, employees and the general public informed. Our website is designed for easy navigation and updated regularly with the monthly activities calendar, quarterly newsletters and current blog content. We pride ourselves on positive feedback from family members who express their delight and gratitude for being “kept in the loop.”
Practice Makes Perfect
We are constantly reviewing and strengthening our myriad avenues of communication to ensure exceptional service, support and satisfaction for residents and their families. Recent additions include digital signage in the main lobby which delivers information about daily activities and celebratory events and welcomes newly arrived residents into the community. Informal get-togethers hosted by staff and/or residents’ families will resume in February with a new name, “The Club Sandwich Social,” spearheaded by Christina Benardo, Activities Director.
